The Everest Crew have decided to host a Sportsman's Lunch to assist in our Fundraising efforts for The Hear and Say Centre. The lunch is to be held on the 27th August 2010 at the Burleigh Heads SLSC. Click here for more info.

Well, we have been working hard on fundrasising. Our Everyday Hero web link has been up and running for about 3 weeks, and we are fast approaching $2,000.

First group training walk photos attached. Casual stroll out through the Lamington National Park, for about 5 hours. Early pace setters were Sherpa Dowks and Doc. Great views as you can see.

Big day today, 5am start at Maccas Nth Burleigh and a double climb of Mt Warning. Yep, up and back twice. And for some strange reason we thought it would be sensible to run down the last leg. Some very sore legs the following days. And then on the Sunday, we did a 5hr Mountain Bike ride including The Panorama at Tallai.

Some of the boys competed over the weekend in the Merida 24hr Mountain Bike Classic out at Old Hidden Vale. 12 noon Saturday till 12 noon Sunday. Great course, not many injuries. Cookie and Huntsman from the Everest Crew, together with Andy and Craig, punched out 20 odd laps of the 16km circuit, managing to finish 13th overall. Great result for the team!!

Well, the entire Everest crew, met with their sponsored children this morning. What a great event!! The Hear and Say Centre at Varsity Lakes hosted this for us. Each Warrior was introduced to his sponsored child, where we were presented with a Teddy Bear and a photo of the child.

WOW, Sportsmans Lunch!!! Can you believe we had just over 200 people attend, what many have said was "the best luncheon I have ever been to". The lunch started at 12 noon at the Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club and kicked on well into the early hours of the next morning.
